Some new works in progress…

As I am apt to do, I have more than one piece in the works at the moment.  The first is a marriage of my love for flowers and wildlife, particularly what looks like cuddly and innocent animals, which are, in reality, dangerous.  I performed some magic in PhotoShop, blending a photo of a grizzly bear with that of some vibrant orangish-red poppies.  Thank you to Angeline Rijkeboer from for the bear photo and Una C Williams from for the poppy photo.  I also added in some whimsical butterflies from my own collection of photos.  I can’t wait for this to be finished!  Video to be uploaded soon.

The piece is made on Strathmore Bristol Vellum, 14×17, using Faber Castell Polychromos Colored Pencils.

For my second piece, I have been asked to complete a large format painting of Las Vegas.  Off to a great start – and I’m really excited about this one!  I already feel as if it’s going well and will be a unique and vibrant painting that I won’t be able to take my eyes off of.

The stretched canvas measures 30″H x 40″W, and I am painting with Golden Heavy Body Acrylics and some Liquitex Basics.  Video to follow – stay tuned!            July 2017
